SLO 2010 canceled   March 3rd, 2010

Due to a low pressure area crossing Germany on Saturday from Northwest to Southeast, we decided to cancel the competition. The front will push the balloons towards the alps, and there will be clouds and snowfall – no conditions to fly with a gas balloon. After the low pressure area will have crossed our region, the windspeed will be to high for balloon flights.

Flights <24 hours: Geneva-Minorca   February 17th, 2010

Get the Flash Player to see the wordTube Media Player.
To show what flights are possible within 24 hours, we will present some of the past ones here in a loose series.
Geneva-Minorca was a flight in the Gordon-Bennett-Race 2009 – endurance 17 hours.
The graphics were made with the flight analysis program for gliders ‘SeeYou’ from Naviter. For those who want to analyze the flight with this one or another flight analysis program for IGC-Files, we provide the IGC-File: Originaledited.
SeeYou doesn’t contain a gas balloon, so we use our own model: gas_balloon.3ds.
For Google Earth we provide KMZ-Files. You can open these also with www.maps.google.de – click with the right button of the mouse and use Copy link location. Afterwards paste it in the search field of www.maps.google.de and click on Maps-Search.
